Balkan Youth
BULGARIA, Etropole

In 1946, a group of young people from the local community center decided to create a dancing group to perform typical dances from the region. Gradually, the ensemble’s repertoire has been enriched by dancing compositions and typical customs from the whole country. The expression of the style and character of Bulgarian folk dances is achieved by complexity, diversity, and elegance. The audience is delighted by both the instrumental folk music and the Bulgarian folk songs. The ensemble has performed many concerts for the public in Bulgaria and abroad (Cuba, Mexico, Greece, Turkey, France, etc.).

Seodo Sori
SOUTH KOREA, Incheon

Seodo Sori group was established by the talented performers to preserve songs and dances from that region.

The songs have been handed down by people who had struggle persistently with the northern tribes in Manchuria to survive. Their melodies contain the sentyment of such people. Songs like Susimga, Gwansanyunggma, and Baebaengigut have been designated as important intangible cultural heritages. Gwansanyungma is based on a poem of Du Fu, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, China, lamenting his being unable to return home due the rebelion.

Ballet Folklorico Aztlán
MEXICO, Mexico City

The international acclaimed Ballet Folklórico Aztlán of México is a leading force in Mexico’s progressive multiculturalism folk movement in North America.

The Ballet Folklórico Aztlán’s mission is to create, to present, to preserve, and to extend the great repertoire of Mexican Folklore.

The group’s vast ballet repertoire draws from both, traditional Aztecs and Mayan sources and original classic ballet fusion, while enhancing it’s hard- driving soulful folk dance with a broad range of Spanish, French, Polish, Celtic and Afro influences.
Since its inception registered as a non-profit organization in 2002, the Ballet Folklórico Aztlán has enjoyed meteoric success, performing well over hundreds of shows in México, Canada, Brazil, France, Poland, USA, and Italy.

Folk Song and Dance Ensemble „Jawor”
POLAND, Lublin

The representative folk group of one of the most important universities in Lublin. It has existed since 1960. The group is a group of dancing, singing and playing students and graduates of the University of Life Sciences, as well as other Lublin universities, and people who are not students.

In 2003, the group received the title of Honorary Ambassador of the Lublin Voivodeship “Jawor”. During its over fifty-year history, the group has made over 100 foreign trips, visiting all continents. It has performed in countries such as China, Australia, Fiji, Futuna, New Zealand, Thailand, Malaysia, Costa Rica and many others. Since 1993, the group has been a member of the Polish Section of the International Council of Folklore Associations, Festivals and Folk Art – CIOFF.

Folk Dance Ensemble “DRUZHBA”
UKRAINE, Rivne

The collective was created in 1979 at the Palace of Children and Youth of the city of Rivne. In 1989 the ensemble has been awarded the title “Exemplary artistic collective”.

The acquired skills and abilities of school pupils are realized in the concert repertoire of the Folk Dance Ensemble “Druzhba”. The creative laboratory of the ensemble creates choreographic compositions and dances of the regions of Ukraine: Polissya, Volyn, Central and Western Ukraine, as well as dances of the peoples of the world.

Ensemble  “Druzhba” is a multiple winner of the Grand Prix and diploma winner of International and All-Ukrainian festivals – contests.

The group performed in Poland, Bulgaria, Serbia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Germany, Romania etc.

Nyírség Folk Dance Group
HUNGARY, Nyírség

The ensemble was founded in 1974.

The repertoire of the ensemble – embracing the dance tradition of the whole Carpathian basin. The dancers strive to achieve the different dance styles (dialects) thoroughly and to develop their skills of improvizing continuously, which helps this authenticity. For the sake of showing this colourful folk culture, they take great care to present the specific regional dances in original costumes (appropriate to that region) on stage.

The Ensemble’s accompanying band is the Szikes Band.

The Ensemble often takes part in different festivals and competitions in Hungary and abroad. They have been on tour to Belgium, Italy, England, Holland, Mexico and other countries.
