EKPOLOSTIKOS OMILIS GIANNISTON „PELLA”- GREECE

The „Pella” Association was founded in 1964 in Giannista and is the oldest cultural association in that city. It unites children, youths and adults who learn and perform traditional dances from all parts of Greece. „Pella” has participated in several international festivals. It has performed in Cyprus, Hungary, Canada, Israel, Algeria, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Bulgaria, Italy and France, among others.

„NOVI BEOGRAD” – YUGOSLAVIA, SERBIA

The „Novi Beograd” ensemble in 1974 in Belgrade. It currently comprises 40 dancers and musicians. In its program the ensemble presents dances, melodies and costumes of different parts of Yugoslavia. The ensemble has participated in several international folklore festivals. It has performed in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Holland, Sweden, Switzerland and Russia, among others.

„KIS – DUNA” HUNGARY

The Folk Dance Ensemble „Kis – Duna” was founded in 1980. Until 1997 it had existed under the name of „Rozmaring”. The ensemble presents the music and folk dances of the Carpathian Basin. The dance ensemble is accompanied by the excellent „Kislaptaros” folk band. „Kis – Duna” has participated in several international festivals in Austria, Slovakia and Lithuania, among others. It was also one of the guests of the first “Eurofolk” festival in Zamość. The ensemble has won many awards at Hungarian folklore festivals.

„RANOCHO FOLKLORICO DE MONCARAPACHO” – PORTUGAL

The ensemble was founded in 1963. Over the course of 40 years of its existence, all of its members have put great effort into documenting, collecting and preserving traditions, songs, dances and folk attire of the Alrarve region (in the south of Portugalia). Moncarapacho is a small village located in the vicinity of the city of Oho, between the mountains and the ocean. The ensemble has participated in several national and international folklore festivals in countries such as France, Belgium, Morocco, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, Holland, Croatia and Hungary.

„BALLET SABLE d’Or” – ALGERIA

Ballet Sable d’Or is a folk ensemble which won first place in the “panafrica” folklore and popular dance festival in Algeria. The ensemble uses regional and traditional instruments. The ensemble’s mission is to preserve tradition, revive old customs, raise its level through authenticity and its continuous search, and spreading its native culture. It has gone on tour to countries such as: Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Spain, Portugal, France.

„MAGISTERIAL” – MEXICO

The ensemble was founded in 1963. The ensemble’s program comprises live music, where different genres and dance rhythms mingle, accompanied by traditional folk games. The ensemble has taken it upon itself to promote and spread Mexican folklore. „Magisteral ” has gone on tour to countries such as: USA, Russia, Belgium, Israel, Germany, Venezuela, Canada, Brazil and Poland.

„GROJCOWIANIE” – POLAND

The ensemble was founded in 1995 under the initiative of Jadwiga Jurasz as the „Mali Grojcowianie” children’s ensemble. It currently exists as a youth ensemble and gathers youth who work and study in the Radziechowy – Wieprz county. In its programs the ensemble presents the folklore of the Żywiec highlanders in music, dance, song and customs. Its artistic achievements include several awards and commendations. During the Eurofolk festival „Grojcowianie” presented a program entitled „Na zielone świątki”, comprising shepherd games, the siustany, obyrtki, the circle dance and the hajduk.

„DREWUTNIA” – POLAND

The „Drewutnia” ensemble in 1997 in Lublin. It plays tracks inspired by the music of the regions where various cultures and traditions mixed and mingled. Its repertoire features Lemko and Ukrainian songs, as well as those of the Lubelszczyzna, Kashubia and Małopolska regions. The band goes on tour in Poland as well as abroad.
